Under construction & unstable โ This is an early testing phase. Expect bugs and changes.
For the words that matter most
Write letters. Record your voice. Leave video messages. Encrypted end-to-end and delivered only at the right moment.
Who it's for
Trust Envelope is for anyone who has something worth preserving.
The things you'd want them to know on their wedding day, their first heartbreak, the day they become parents. Write it now, deliver it then.
A grandparent's stories. A spouse's laugh. The sound of someone saying your name. Record it so it isn't lost when they are.
Thirty seconds of you, looking into the camera, saying the thing. Sometimes that's all a person needs.
You don't get to choose when it happens. You do get to choose what you leave behind, and who hears it first.
How it works
Three steps between you and peace of mind.
Compose letters, record your voice, or leave a video message. Choose who receives it and when โ a specific date, or after you're gone.
A simple email arrives weekly, monthly, or quarterly โ your choice. One click confirms you're still here. That's all.
If you stop checking in, after a grace period you set, your messages are delivered to their recipients exactly as you wrote them.
Features
Built with the care this kind of thing deserves.
Some moments call for a letter. Others need your voice or your face. Trust Envelope supports written messages up to 10,000 characters, voice recordings up to 10 minutes, and video messages up to 30 seconds โ recorded right in your browser.
Every message is encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before it ever touches our servers. Even our own engineers and administrators cannot read what you wrote. The only people who ever see the plaintext are you and your recipient.
Want even stronger protection? Add a password to any message. The recipient enters it โ out-of-band from you โ to unlock. Without that password, the message stays locked forever.
Send on a specific date โ a 21st birthday, a 25-year anniversary, the morning you'd be celebrating something. Or send after you're gone: pick how many days, weeks, months, or years after your passing each message should arrive. A first wave for the immediate days. A second for a year later. A letter for ten years out, when grief has softened into memory.
Weekly, monthly, or quarterly โ you choose. The email is one button. One click. No app to install, no login to remember. Miss a check-in? You have a grace period (you decide how long) before anything happens. The system errs on the side of "still here."
When it's time, your recipient gets a simple email โ just a name and a button. They click, the message opens in their browser, beautifully presented. No accounts, no apps, no fuss. They can return to the link any time; it doesn't disappear.
Life changes. So do the words you want to leave. Update messages, add recipients, change delivery dates โ right up until they're delivered. There's no penalty for thinking longer.
Privacy
The architecture makes it impossible for us to read your messages before delivery. We don't ask you to trust us โ we made trust unnecessary.
Encryption happens client-side before anything is uploaded. Your plaintext never touches our servers, our databases, or our backups.
Add a password to any message for true end-to-end encryption โ even if our entire system were compromised, the message would remain unreadable.
We don't track you. We don't serve ads. We don't sell data. The service is the product.
Our security doesn't depend on secrecy. We're transparent about the architecture so you can verify it for yourself.
Built with care
Trust Envelope was built by San Tran in memory of his friend Emma, who put up a brave fight against cancer. Read the story behind the project.
